Advanced Soap Scum Removal - Use Steam Cleaners

Soap scum on tiles, in sinks, and in bathtubs can be difficult to clean manually. Besides soapy residue, these areas are prone to mold and mildew growth that can cause many types of diseases. Use steam cleaners for floor and tile to remove soap, hard water stains, mineral and calcium deposits, along with mildew and mold from kitchens, bathrooms, pools, fountains, and other areas where water can collect.

Steam cleaners use heated steam (as hot as 386°F) to remove mineral deposits and organic matter on different types of surfaces. When paired with anti-bacterial technologies, steam cleaning machines can also eliminate more than 99% of mold, bacteria, and other disease-causing pathogens.

For faster cleansing, you can use an eco-friendly detergent designed to clean tiles and remove soap scum and other deposits. These green chemicals breakdown the complex chemical bonds holding the molecules of soap scum and other residues together. The effectively broken down particles are then emulsified in mater, enabling operators to easily wash away or extract residues using a wet vacuum attached to the steam cleaner. These products are safe on the skin and can be used like any regular detergent.

To remove soap scum and other slippery, calcified deposits in bathrooms, kitchens, and yards, apply the detergent to the area and leave it there for a few minutes. Next, apply steam using a grout steam cleaner. You may need to use a detailing brush to remove hard mineral stains. Stainless steel detailing brushes are the best for cleaning hard surfaces such as tiles and ceramic, stone, and fiberglass bathroom and porch fittings. However, test a small portion first to make sure the brush does not scratch the tile surfaces. Once the area is clean, you should use the wet vacuum feature to extract the dirt and water. If the steam cleaners do not have this facility, you will need to remove the dirt and soap scum residue manually.

Steam cleaners should not be confused with a commercial carpet steam cleaner, which is used for cleaning carpets, sofa covers, and curtains. A commercial carpet steam cleaner is designed to clean only carpets and upholstery. A steam clean system, on the other hand, can spot clean carpets in addition to removing dirt, soap scum, and other deposits from hard surfaces.
